from here and here.

On Thursday.

I went to Rachel Whiteread's Exhibition at Tate Britain.
It was showing her drawings and sketches of her sculpture work, which she was famous for.
I love it very much. I was looking at drawings on graph paper, smiling.

There are sentiments which I share with the artist.
For instance, 'Study of the floor', I totally get it!
I remember I used to stare at the wooden floor at my grandma's place,
and study the pattern of it, noted every little holes and cracks,
which I still do sometimes...

I enjoy every minute when I was at the exhibition :)
staring at little correction fluid traces, dribble across the paper.
love it. make sure you check it out too!

I was listening to Schubert's Trout Quintet, while my cat was taking a nap on my bed dreaming of fishes.

I was really upset about losing this postcard.

this image pretty much has imprinted in my mind but I keep looking at it again and again.
I was looking for it this morning and went through the crap I kept. (that's a lot I'm telling you.)
just to look at it again, I found it after looking through all the albums on the website of SIDE Gallery at Newcastle,
where I got the postcard from one valentine's day.

why was I there? that's another story.

over the course of a hectic week.

@£$%^&*(!

gahhh.
I am finding it very hard to concentrate.
the sun, the birds, the squirrels outside my window are so distracting!
I pull open my curtain and put on my sunnies to enjoy summer for a bit,
and now getting back to my me me me me essay (contextual statement, whatever that is)
which I hate talking about myself and my work.

I am thinking about this time next week hanging out at London Fields in order to motivate myself,
cause I don't want to mourn over unsatisfying work by then.

world, you will be missed for 2 more days, only 2 more days...

sneak peek

a little preview of what I am working on.
no sleep tonight.

I have been sleeping too much and going out too much for
someone trying to meet a deadline on Monday and still have tons of unaccomplished tasks...
don't know why can't I run all-nighter like I used to,
and I work better from 8 AM - 2 PM.

I even pray to God about it.

then this afternoon I napped for 3 hours,
so I should be able to stay up tonight to finish up things
and get them printed at the printers at 9 AM then go to sleep at 12PM.
that's the plan. Thank God for the power nap :D

bless me.

coffee breath

This week is a good week.
A lot of people probably won't say it'cause of the deadline on Monday.
All I can say is, God is good.

Met up with a lot of people (both by intention or by surprise)
we fika, the strange thing is I don't feel guilty at all,
in fact it energizes me.

the good news we shared,
the company, the weather, the encouragement.

seriously.
this week is getting better and better.
and it's only Wednesday :)

odd things II

I didn't use to like eggs.

So I bought some pretty free range eggs from Borough Market and start having sunshine egg on toast in my backyard.
The experience of having breakfast in the sun helps me getting over my fear for runny yolks.

odd things I

Last month, I spent 2 weeks back home in Hong Kong.
Me and my mum spent a lot of time wandering around town and eating whatever looks good.
Here are some finds from antique markets, more to follow.

oh yes it is.

from Twine

got my bike fixed for free :)
I secretly named it after the old Mister, Perry, who sold it and fixed it for me.
He was delighted when he saw me rode back from my grocery,
and exclaimed 'Oh, my little green bike!' when I past his little stand.

Ahh! I shall call my bike Perrier, cause it's green.

10.3.10

this makes me laugh.

'Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree.
The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don't want to get hurt.
Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't so good but easy.
So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing.
They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top becuase they value quality.'

I love weird metaphors.

8.3.10

really..?

this song got stuck in my head, I was humming it on my way home from London Fields.
(and looked over my shoulder from time to time to check if anyone notice...)
I am going to see this man play live in Mayyy :D

27.2.10

started my day with a strong coffee,
a big breakfast then refill my cup.
had a walk in the park,
met Mr. black bird sitting on a tree.
met my neighbor for the first time
and we set off to collect branches for her fire place.

sitting next to the window writing a letter to no one.
and I think to myself, what a wonderful world ♪

this is how I spent a sunny day.
it better be spring.

(my apology if I sounded too spacey... it must be the coffee:)
