slow cooking.

spent my day-off cooking, a whole day cooking.
starting from the stock, starting everything from scratch.
I was cooking five baby aubergines when my housemate left the house, and I was still cooking them when she came back. She probably thinks I am nuts. they had been in the pot for 2 hours, drinking up the stock and flavor.

I was at the kitchen constantly pouring stock over the little aubergines with a ladle. this is what I call slow cooking. it takes a lot of patience, attention and admiration. there are moments I want to lift the lid and peek at a stew when I am not supposed to, moments I do not want to leave the kitchen unattended and moments when baby vegetables or fruits bursting in beautiful colors put a grin on my face. these are everything about slow cooking that I really enjoy.

I am not a great cook, but I love indulging myself in the earthiness of organic food and the stink of onions and garlic on my fingertips. it's the best way to spend a sunny afternoon with occasional showers. :)

irrelevance.

New Pillow

Off to bed and I will be dreaming of roast duck in my new duck and goose down pillow.

The above sentence does sound like I hold no feeling for animals, which is not the case. I am looking forward to swimming along ducklings in the pond at Hampstead Heath. Just that, I can't figure out what feeling to hold against the love for animals and making them into lovely nutritious food.

Tired words.

it says,
' Tired Words want to go to sleep.
Let them rest! Don't make a peep!
Try to use a synonym instead,
let those tired words stay in bed.'

find it very cute.

Neighbours.

I was a bit angry at the foxes which took my cleaned shoes to their haunt.
But then I can't really blame them, they probably thought my shoes are Chinese radish and tried eating them. Poor thing they are so skinny and have no where to stay.
well, now they come around to our backyard at night.
I sometimes see them sneaking into our backyard while I am watching tv.

Welcome to Hackney.

Hello, stranger.

I was on bus 55,
sitting next to me was this guy playing sudoku.

I overheard him on the phone.
He was about to meet someone for dinner at Brewer Street, Soho.

Then I saw him on the same bus when I headed home.

He was on the phone saying, he met up with somebody for some updates, and had a good time.
It almost feels like he is telling me that.
